Jake's First Flag Football game

Jake had his first flag football game on Friday night. This year we are trying out the sports through a Church called CCV. It was just amazing how things are run differently then what we were involved in before. At each practice the kids are given a Becoming Champions card (like a baseball card). Last week it was a COMMITMENT card with the Bible verse, "But your hearts must be fully committed to the Lord our God..". 1Kings 8:61. They are also given one of those plastic bracelets with the word of the week on it. This week it was also COMMITMENT on a red bracelet. Jake thought it was really cool and loved to wear it to school.
I love that you can play a sport and still teach Gods word.
So on with the game.... Jake is liking football but still has so much to learn. When he would get the ball he would try and get ride of it as fast as he could because he did not want to get his flag pulled, it is just so cute . I am so excited to be able to watch how he does through he whole season.
Jake we are so proud of you for trying out something new. You are such an awesome kid. We love you so much.

Another Trip to Califonia

Labor Day weekend we took a trip out to California. The Fiebigers were nice enough to let us come out one more time this summer. We got to spend some time with our great fiends the Hicks family. It was so nice to see Caitlin and Brandon (from Texas) and spend time with the whole family. The kids had a great time as usual. Jake because the best boogie boarder ever and Haven really loved to play int the sand more then last time we were there. My camera was very low on battery so we did not take many pictures. Here are some that we did take.

Haven at Gymnastics

Haven's first and last day of gymnastics. I took haven to a gymnastics class yesterday and she had so much fun. She loved to just walk around and point at everything. She did not like to do what the teacher wanted her to do. So I did not push it. The class that she was in was a mommy and me class. There are so many fun things for the kids to do. Walking on the balance beam was her favorite thing to do. She also liked to throw the beanie babies into a basketball hoop and she liked the foam block relay race but she would not go though the tunnels, on the trampoline, climb the bars, or climb anything (which is funny because at home that is all she does CLIMB everything). So that is why we will not be going back to the class. They do not like to put the kids in the class until they are 18 months so we are going to wait till then and try again. Here are some really cute pictures of her class.

Haven 16 months

Haven is now 16 months. She is growing so fast it is crazy. At her 15 month check-up she was 21 pounds and in the 25%. Her height was 32in and in the 96%. It amazes me how fast she has grown.

Words that Haven can say:
night night, dog, mom, dada, duck, by by, wow, hot, ice, eye, fish, all done, please (in sign language), thank you (sometimes), Jake (sometimes). She also knows the motions to the song, "if your happy and you know it..."

Haven has such a funny personality. She is usually happy most of the times. She has just stared to get a little bit of an attitude when she does not get her way. I just love her smile and her kisses that she only gives on her time. She loves to sit in anyone's lap and read books.

I have two fun stories to tell about our little princess.
1. Haven and I sat down at our little cars table to have some breakfast after walking Jake to school. She had taken a couple of bites of her watermelon and then folded her hands and started to just mumble her words. I think our little angle was saying her own prayer so I folded my hands and said a prayer for our breakfast. It just amazes me that she has all ready picked up on praying before we eat.
2. My other story is from today. Mandy and I went shopping this morning at Old Navy. When we pulled into the parking lot Haven started to say dog and point out the window. Mandy said I do not see the dog Haven. Then we realized that she had seen the Old Navy sign and she loves the dogs in the store. Wow she is just so smart.
